Blue Bloods Series Review

  • Blue Bloods: Schuyler Van Alen is an outcast. She only has two friends at the massive private school, Duchesne. She is beautiful but doesn't acknowledge it. She dresses in baggy clothes from thrift stores. She is also a Blue Blood vampire. For centuries, Blue Bloods have lived among us. They don't hurt the Red Bloods-at least not all of them. They temporarily use human familiars to satisfy their hunger or thirst. The only ones who hurt Blue and Red Bloods are the dangerous Silver Bloods. It all dates back to disappearance of the Roanoke colony. The sign nailed to the tree sad Croatan (Silver Blood). They were thought to have been destroyed years ago by the archangels Gabrielle and Michael-better known as Allegra Van Alen (Schuyler's mom) and Charles Force. Blue Bloods are immortal. They live for one hundred years and then shed their physical shell. Their blood is saved along with their memories for the next cycle. This cycle, Charles Force is the "father" to Mimi and Jack Force aka The Angels of Death and Destruction. They are destined to be together for that is the Blue Blood way but there is one problem. Schuyler and Jack like each other a little too much. Schuyler isn't even supposed to exist. Allegra Van Alen was destined to be with Charles Van Alen Force but she fell in love with a Red Blood and had Schuyler. Schuyler is the only half-blood vampire in existence. Allegra put herself in a coma when Schuyler's father died, swearing to never love another. And then there's Bliss Llewellyn. A newcomer from Texas and one of Mimi's clones. She falls in love with Dylan, a social outcast at Duchesne. But then Dylan disappears. And now Schuyler, with the help of her friend and Conduit Oliver, have to stick together to defeat the Silver Bloods. But no one else will help because they do not accept that they are truly back.
  • Masquerade: Schuyler and Oliver travel to Venice. They are keeping Schuyler's promise to her "dead" grandmother. She wanted Schuyler to find her grandfather. Well, Schuyler finally finds that he is no help at all and goes home. Meanwhile, back in New York, Mimi Force is planning the best Four Hundred Ball and after party the Blue Boods have ever seen. Schuyler gets back just in time to arrive in a vintage Chanel dress of her mother's. She is the belle of the ball. At the after party, Schuyler is kissed by a masked stranger. Bliss, however, is having horrible visions and nightmares. She almost drowns but is rescued by a mysterious outsider. She thinks it is Dylan but is proven wrong when she finds out it was Kingsley Martin, a Duchesne newcomer. Lawrence Van Alen, Schuyler's grandfather, has come from Venice to take care of her. He brings hope and some answers. But after Schuyler discovers that the frequent fainting spells she has been having are a sign that she needs to take a human familiar, it doesn't seem to matter. She must take Oliver, her Conduit. Mimi Force comes to the conclusion that she must destroy Schuyler. She and Kingsley set a Silver Blood intended to kill Schuyler on Bliss and Priscilla Dupont. Bliss survives, Mrs. Dupont is dead, and Mimi has been sentenced to burn. The only one who can save her now is Schuyler.
  • Revelations: Schuyler is now under the care of Charles Force and Lawrence Van Alen is now Regis of the Committee. Schuyler and Jack are having a secret affair and her and Bliss are best friends. Dylan has returned but he is not himself. Lawrence leaves for Rio on a mission and Dylan goes to vampire rehab. Mimi and Jack set their bonding date earlier than expected. And Allegra Van Alen has woken up. Schuyler's life sure is messed up. She, Oliver and Bliss go to visit Dylan but find that he has no memory of any of them. Schuyler discovers that there may be a way to break Mimi and Jack's bond. Schuyler travels to Rio to see Lawrence and finds that a war is about to start. She gets ready to battle for her own life-and all the other Blue Bloods' lives too.

This series continues in The Van Alen Legacy which has yet to be released.
