The House of Night Series Review

  • Marked: Zoey Redbird is a normal human teenager. She has normal friends. She has an average life. But this all changes when a vampyre at her school marks her as a vampire fledgling. Zoey doesn't want to accept what she has become. Neither does her family. But Zoey is sick. The only way to survive is to escape to the House of Night, an institution that teaches vampyre fledglings and prepares them for what is to come. Zoey flees to her grandmother's house. She is the only one that will help Zoey now. But before Zoey can talk to her, Zoey falls and passes out. She is visited by Nix, the vampyre goddess. After the spell, Zoey finds herself at the House of Night with a completely colored in mark-something unheard of in a vampyre fledgling. Zoey soon makes four friends and an arch enemy. Zoey struggles with the confusing rules-made more confusing with hottie Erik Night after her. The final outcome is that Zoey has to fight to save her life-as well as her new friends-against some very chilling creatures.
  • Betrayed: Zoey has only been at the House of Night for one month and she already is the leader of the Dark Daughters-a popular club that Zoey's arch enemy, Aphrodite, almost ruined-has a super hot boyfriend (Erik Night) and has a mark unheard of from any fledgling. Zoey jumbles two boyfriends in this book and then an unexpected death within her tight circle of friends. And while all of this is going on, Neferet-Zoey's mentor-is acting very strange.
  • Chosen: Zoey's best friend, Stevie Rae is alive but dead. Zoey thinks that there is hope but Stevie Rae thinks otherwise. Everything is going reasonably well until Loren, a hot young professor, steps into the picture. Zoey now struggles with three boyfriends. Zoey keeps this all a secret until a plot made by her mentor, Neferet, makes her reveal the horrible secret to Erik. On top of all that, her friends find out that she was lying all along about Stevie Rae.
  • Untamed: Zoey's best friend, Stevie Rae, is alive once again. Aphrodite, who is slowly becoming a friend, has lost her mark and given it to Stevie Rae. Erik still hates Zoey but doesn't mean it. Her friends have forgiven her but a new kid in school brings new curiosities and disappointments. When Stevie Rae and Aphrodite finally reveal themselves to the House of Night, Neferet makes an announcement of her own. She unleashes an ancient evil on the House of Night. The only way to stay safe is to get underground. Now it's up to Zoey and her friends to save their beloved school and send Neferet and the evil away once and for all.

The series continues in House of Night Book Five: Hunted. It will be released in March 10, 2009. Now I would like to make a shout-out to one of my best friends in the whole wide world; Colby Keller. HI COLBY!!!!!!
